Danny Macaskill - The Ridge

Thanks for that link, cracking stuff!

absolute nutter!!!

is that a back pack or a parachute on his back?

Fab (y)

And some of the best drone work I've seen too.

Lovely vid.

Having completed the ridge in one go (albeit in Summer) and numerous sections at various times of year that brought it back.

It's tricky these days due to 4 kids and climbing mates also having family but we're still hankering after a full winter traverse before we use up all our brownie points on photography lol

Cool shots of him on the 'inn pin' even if the bike was pulled up.

Beautiful scenery but I found it lacking in the bike tricks you normally see in his videos

Still more than I could do

Fair play to him, even walking some of that would make me nervous. Stunning scenery too. Going over the fence near the end made me smile.

Front page of the Scotsman this morning!

;);)Ha, I just want to know how he cycled up there in the first place .

He didnt the film crew and guide carried it up.

Watched it this morning. I was up there in May. Stunning location and a stunning video. He is a class act.

Brilliant video love the little flip over the fence at 6:05

There's a documentary on BBC1 Scotland next friday at 7.30pm about how the video was made. Presumably it will be on BBC iplayer later if you don't have access to BBC Scotland.

I used to ride with him when he lived in Aviemore about 6years ago now. He was a nutter back then let alone now. Still speak to him now and again but very rarely see him with him being here, there and everywhere...lucky for some

A lot of it I assume would have been with quadcopters. Other than that they use DSLR's and steady rigs (y)

I spotted the video a couple of days ago and saved watching it for the TV. Wow that's really impressive and even better on a bigger screen. I'd love to get to Skye with the camera but I'm more than happy to stay at the bottom rather than walk (let alone cycle) along some of those ridges :jawdrop:

This guy's stuff always amazes me. Epic skill and great creativity.

Watch the full Programme. He actually carried it up the last section with no safety line (because it looked better on film) much to the horror of the crew.

I have seen it, he still didn't cycle up which was the question asked. Good film though.

Most people won't even climb up it without a securely managed top rope, i.e. a belayed climber up ahead of them. It's not too hard a scramble, but as is often said, it's a very narrow ridge with a terrifying sheer drop on one side, and the other side is even worse. There's a reason for its name, the Inaccessible Pinnacle.
