No
Since coming back from Buenos Aires trip last year, I still fell in love with the country, and still am thinking of taking up Tango classes despite of my deafness. It will be a very big challenge for me.

Anyway, now to get to the point of this forum, has anyone done Dance photography whether it is tango or salsa or ballroom dancing?

Yes. It makes up most of my work. Ballet, modern, lyrical, contemporary, tap and street among others covering all ages and abilities from baby ballet to Principal dancers with the Royal Ballet.

I went to a free Olympus event which was organised by London Camera Exchange and was held in Chester Town Hall with a hired dance company. I had a loan OMD EM1 and 25mm f1.8 lens and my own Lumix GH3 and a 20mm f1.7 lens. I could flit from camera to camera for a direct comparison, all shots were taken in the relatively dim lighting, so no flash. I found the 20mm lens much more useful than the 25mm for ease of framing (40mm and 50mm full frame equivalents). Both cameras were fine, I couldn't discern any difference in image quality between the two and the image stabilisation on the Olympus was no advantage in these specific circumstances, the user interface on the Lumix is much better for me. Neither camera would be an obvious choice for low light moving subjects, a fast wide angle prime on a full frame camera ought to be better. I concluded it is a challenging but fun genre to photograph, requires careful selection of ISO, shutter speed and aperture for success and most importantly, dancers that don't mind having their photograph taken on a normal club night. The attached heavily compressed shot was taken on the Lumix GH3.
