Quad: great thinking and wonderful colour

Shoot: cant decide if your brave or plain crazy! But LOVE the shoot shot! Great DOF, wonderful PP and perfect subject matter ;)

Really like that, it's all been said before but good DOF and nice processing and lighting...

Lovely shot

Agree with all the other comments - wonderful!

You're going to have to tread very carefully from now on....

Brilliant image for shoot.

Focus is bang on where it should be and you are a brave man to put a shotgun in the wifes hands. I know I wouldn't

Andy

Cheers Andy, it wasn't loaded don't think it needs to be, it's daunting enough!!

love the idea for quad, fab vibrant colours and a great interpretation of the theme

thats great for shoot... wouldnt mess with your missus with that gun in her hands ;) love the dark feel, focus is spot on.. love my 35mm lens, use it most often on f/1.8

Thanks, the 35mm is a great lens when playing with DoF like this.

More crazy than brave I reckon... Haha. Glad you like the PP wasn't sure if I'd overdone it to start with! Thanks

Cheers, managed to get good natural lighting so uses it to my advantage. Thanks!

Many thanks.

Cracking shot there Dan. I love the simplicity of it yet has a real menace too.

Didnt get chance to shoot this weeks theme until yesterday and headed into a nearby forest to try and shoot a 'single' track cutting through the tall fir trees.

Got a few shots I was relatively happy with and then on the way out passed the Go Ape arial assult thingy, managed to get this shot of a single guy, on a single zip wire so thought it fitted the theme well.

Didnt get chance to PP it and upload it last night so touch late for the first time.

Fits the theme and I really like the effect. Was the zoom burst effect done in camera or through PP? Either way, the feeling of motion works really well for this image.
By the way, you weren't the only one late posting - I just posted mine about 10 mins ago!

 That's doing funny things to my eyes !!!!!
It also looks absolutely terrifying. I'm not very good with heights.

Great take on the theme and you've managed to keep him very sharp.
It's a shame that he's not a bit bigger in the frame but I think that if you cropped any tighter you'd lose the feel of the trees.

Can I stop looking now before I go cross eyed?

I like it - I agree with Sarah that it would be good if it was bigger in the frame, but it is a clever shot!

Phil

I might have been tempted to dress the wife up in something fancy

Tell us more Dean!!!! Tell us more!

Single - Yep I like that. Really interesting looking through 52's a nd seeing how peoples minds work and interpret things! I am guessing done PP afterwards.....

That works Dan. My eyes keep flicking to the sides and back to the guy in the middle and it's giving me a headache :D

Whoa!!!! This is making me feel dizzy! Fantastic shot, however you have achieved it.:clap:

cheers, yep the effect was done in PP, had a go in camera but took some nailing and didn't want to waste all my chances.

Thanks Sarah, did try and make him a touch bigger but your spot on that it lost too much tree detail and a bit of the effect.

Phil

cheers Phil, glad you like.

Very clever shot and bang on theme. Works really well with the guy right in the middle of the shot. Well done.

Jenny

Thanks Jenny, composition rules usually don't work with the subject in the centre but think it does with this effect.

Correct it was done in PP with the radial blur tool.

Cheers.

Thanks. It's certainly a different effect but it's the one I was after.

That's a crazy shot, it's boggling my eyes silly:eek: and therefore gets a firm thumbs up from me:thumbs:

Haha, though it'd send a few people crazy, it was worse than that before I toned it down, cheers.

Whoa!!!! This is making me feel dizzy! Fantastic shot, however you have achieved it.:clap:

Who needs drugs when you can stare at a Photoshop effect.... Thanks

Dan

I really like this. It almost jumps out of the screen at you! Nice PP effects and a strongly composed image. Works really well.

Good stuff!

Ian.

Ah, sod the photo's or Processing, I am more interested in Dean "dressing his wife up in something fancy!!!":thinking::razz::nono:

That plays mind games. good feel and imagination.

Thanks David

I like this image, just played with Zoom Buster with my single aswell. Have you had a look to see if you get the same effect if you zoom in on the man, do you still get some the zoom bust effect?

I tried with a tighter crop on the guy but the effect seemed to be reduced as there wasnt as many trees to show it.

Thanks Ian, it was a slight 3d effect was hoping the radial blur would produce so happy with that comment.

nice shot - but boy did that make my eyes go funny?!?

Haha, never thought it would mess with peoples eyes so much.

Had an idea for this as soon as I saw it, used my wife again for the shot and wanted to put something inbetween her and the camera.

Thought about bars but then had the idea of going to the local tennis courts and shooting throught the wire mesh.

Wanted it to look a little dark and always had it in my mind that I'd do cross processing on it and add plenty of vignetting.

Wanted the mesh to disect her face as symmetrical as possible which was tricky.

Fantastic PP. Works really well with this image and gives it quite a moody feel. Had to laugh at your comment of "wanted to put something between the wife and the camera" though- does she hate your camera that much?:D

I like that. The distortion from the wide angle accentuates everything and gives it quite a haunting feel. Definitely comes across as though she's imprisoned, the stare actually makes her look a little crazy ;)

left a bit, left a bit, stop!

seriously though, i love how you have processed this i think it works really well for this shot, a very moody 70's style and the expression on her face is perfect. I love how the clouds have streaked through the vignette. Top job Dan:thumbs:

Another great shot Dan. Has a '28 Days Later' feel to it.

Excellent - I love the composition and the processing. Something out of the ordinary and works really well.:clap:

An original shot and it works really well, looks like it could have been taken from a thriller movie

Haha, cheers. She doesnt hate it too mcuh just yet, but if too many more themes need her involvement she might.

So I've portrayed her as a killer with a shotgun and now a crazy woman, have a feeling I'm not gonna have her helping me soon...

Thanks for your comments

Cheers, glad you like the processing, always wanted to try cross processign and thought this was the perfect opportunity.

I never thought about that but yeah I suppose it does, glad you like

Many thanks, always try to produce something a little different from the obvious

very sinister looking.

:)

Cheers, maybe should have got the wife to wear a set of fangs

Cheers for all your comments,

Dan

A really haunting shot.
I love the idea of using the fence in that way and the cross-processing has worked a treat in getting the right atmosphere in it.

I'm a bit undecided about the effect on the eyes. Part of me would quite like to see them looking a bit more natural, rather than that dead black . . . on the other hand they do add a certain something to the image. Can't quite make my mind up on this bit.

You wouldn't have known it was a wide angle without the fence in the way. It's added a nice perspective. I like the pp, like the lighting, like the vignette.

For me though, Chris' comment of
left a bit, left a bit, stop
Did make me smile...

Ian.

I like that, i got a feeling of 28 days later film, like she is crazy. keep it up its good.

Single is very good, and messes up my eyes... Stare... a great interpretation... you wanna watch out though, or she's gonna come after you with that shotgun ;)

ooooh fantastic stare shot! Kinda eerie, makes me think of horror movies with the vingeting and stuff and the serious expression.

Thanks  went for an eerie look.

Much appretiated David :)

Haha, I'm gonna have to leave her out of next week before I start getting nightmares.

Dan

Really struggled for something to shoot this week, the next door neighbour keeps doves but couldn't think of a clever way to shoot them other than it making me look like a novice bird watcher.

Had a couple of more simple ideas and finally made my mind up early thisaft.....knew all those tee lights would come in handy one day.

D90 with my 35mm @ 1.8 focusing on the front candle.

Stare is very good! Really like the DOF and PP on it. Love the framing you've got through the fence as well!
