Really like you Speed shot and love the unique take on Present

Great light trails for Speed Dan. Want to get out and do this myself but I'm a lazy b****r sometimes :D

Nice fun shot for present!

Cheers, its defo worth finding a road with a curve on it for the light trails, adds to the composition massively.

Nice doggy's eye view of the situation there. I'm sure it's the only poop we'll see this week (literal kind that is ;)).

 I'm hoping my next weeks effort isn't as crap

Top marks for a unique take on the theme!

I also love the light trails on the speed theme

Thanks, glad you like

Speed is great - the light trails are really bold and crisp, it works well :)

Present - a different take on the theme, well done for thinking of something a little less obvious!

Cheers, sure I would have taken a better shot had I had more time last week but glad the entry is getting a few laughs

Really like you Speed shot and love the unique take on Present

Thankyou

nasty little present ! well taken though

Cheers, glad the path was clear, would have looked slightly odd on my knees photographing a turd

Ha-ha-ha, great stuff :)

The dogs do it, its the owners that leaves it!!

Relax Molly, it was a plastic one from a joke shop. No dog mess was harmed in the making of the photo. :)

A very different and clever take on the theme... made me chuckle

love the speed shot , nice and crisp, the sunset adds a lot to the image

as for present, love the idea , very clever, always nice to see thinking outside the box

That was my aim, cheers

   . . . :gag:

Definitely a unique take on the theme and not the type of present that I'd like to receive.
Really made me smile so well done !

And I just realised that once you get past the comedy factor, it's actually very well composed too

Although it was a quick fun shot I did want to get the composition as good as the photo would allow with the path, thanks for noticing.

Thanks

Cheers, I know the light trails isnt everyones cup of tea but enjoying this good feedback.

Have always wanted to take this shot, and this theme gave me a good excuse to do so, and also to use my D90 in anger for the first time.

Although I approach the stadium from the other side every game, I wandered up Beeston hill to take a shot of the PEOPLE funneling down to the stadium from the housing estates at the top.

The same PEOPLE make the same walk every home game, the same routine every other Saturday. I broke my routine to get this shot and am fairly happy with it.

Luckilly the sky wasnt completely overcast and the clouds made me decide to use B&W, bumping up the contrast to bring out some detail.

Just wish the guy closest to the cam was either not in shot or fully in shot.

C&C Please

I like the sky, the shadows of the people on the grass and the way the people lead you into the pictures

Many thanks, glad you like. I originally had more image to the left but cropped to get the path in the bottom left corner for better composition.

Simply cracking 10/10 from me.

WOW, praise indeed, cheers Rob!!

I like the idea behind this and it works pretty well. The b&w suits and you've got some good shadows in the image, just needs a little more contrast as the background is looking very flat. And I'm sure it's slightly leaning right, but that might be my eyes :)

Cheers for your comments.

Know what you mean about the horizon, tried tweaking it myself and it turns out it's pretty level. Rotating it to the left is really obvious so might be a bit of an illusion.

Applying more contrast to the background lost detail in the foreground and the people which is what the image is focusing on.

Cheers, Dan

Nicely done Dan, it suits the B&W and the composition is spot on. I had a similar idea for the Doncaster Rovers game on Saturday ;).

Cheers Scott, bit hit and miss gettting the right people in the right shot but was rewarded for my patience

Hi Dan, a good effort this week, Its a realy good shot, although it does seem a little bit wonky.

Thankyou for your comments, see below I have levelled it up.

Levelled the original up, means a tigher crop but think its a bit better.

Oh bloody hell, Elland Road, how can I possibly comment favourably...

BARN-SE-LEY, BARN-SE-LEY, BARN-SE-LEY!!!

Heh. Fun. Anyway, all that aside I really do like this image and I'm with you on the tighter crop, brings the people that little bit more toward the camera. Great shot.

Brilliant idea, really well executed.
I'm a bit late getting round the 52s this week, but it means that I get to see your edit.

Definitely much better. The crop of the guy to the front of the frame looks more natural without his foot in shot and that bit of levelling's made all the difference.
Have you tweaked the contrast in the second one too? it feels better than the original.

Give me two/three or maybe four years and remind me to come and get my revenge..... hopefully ;)

Cheers for your comments

You have very eagle eyes Sarah, indeed I have altered the contrast, only in the middle 3rd of the pic as thought the sky and foreground were already 'contrasty' enough.... if there is such a word...

Many thanks for your comments

I like that, I think that's a great interpretation. I like the compositon and the b&w conversion works really well :)

Much better with the straighten and contrast boost Dan, a great interpretation and a superb image

Great shot and bang on theme. I prefer your corrected version as I thought it had a slight lean to the right too.

You've got the composition spot on as well. Good stuff.

Ian.

Sort of struggled this week.

My initial idea was to go find a farm and photograph the obvious but didnt get the time.

Next I planned to take a self portrait and re-create the terminator movie poster, adding my half a head to replace arnies... I soon realised it was pretty simple and I wasnt too happy with it.

Decided to go for more of a macro shot, something I havent really shot before. I took the back wheel off my bike and using mostly natural light with a bit of fill using my flashgun photographed the cogs.

After a bit of PP and B&W conversion I copied the cogs and made it look like two sets turning eachother.

Bring on week 9!!

Dan

do like that, and i didnt even notice it was copied untill i read it. As you say, bring on week 9!

like that.. nicely composed a good idea copying it, would never have known!.. the B+W suits well.. great lighting

I like this. Nice tones in the grey and interesting pattern and composition

Tsk! Elland Road, eh?
There was me thinking it ws Bradford City's pad;)

Joking apart, I like your image, particulary your edited version with the extra contrast. You have capturesd a time honoured tradition wonderfully.

Well played trying a spot of macro for the mechanical theme. I think you have done well here - To have simply shot bike cogs would have been rather unoriginal, I feel, but with your bit of pp you have taken things on a step. I like.

Great idea using a bike for the theme ;) although that looks a little too clean :D. The B&W and mirror effect work well together

thats cool i like it

Thanks, glad you like!!

Cheers, tried the image with just the one set of cogs bottom right but think the extra one adds a lot to the image.

Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned I'd copied it, no-one would have known. There wasn't much colour in the image before I converted it but it made a huge difference, made it look more metalic and cold.

Cheers, took me a while to get the greys as I wanted them and think they're about right.

Cheers Rob..... Bradford, our little brothers across the county...haha, thanks for your comments, really happy with my pp on the cogs, starting to get the hang of this Photoshop lark.

Thanks, the bike was filthy, have to admit to cleaning the cogs so they would reflect some of the light.

Cheers everyone

Dan

Nice image, it's simple and yet the cogs give it lots of interest. I like the processing too. Well executed, on theme, good job.

Very good Dan, on theme, well shot and PP'ed
