clomping great teenage daughter stomping around looking for a lost phone. throws her coat across the room. knocking my camera bag off the table where it had just been placed. result 350d and a 430ex hit the floor from table hight. fortunately, camera just sustains a graze on the lens hood, but works ok. my 430 on the other hand switches on at display works, but it wont charge, ie no ready light nad no flashy.
i,m so happy i could just s***.:bang:
any suggestions as to repairs? or should i bight the bullet and buy a 580.? eeek.another 430 is a lot cheaper tho.
fortunately non of my wifes gear fell from the bag. 30d various L s, and a 580.
my daughters days may have been numbered.:bonk:
 
I got my flash repaired at www.fixationuk.com great place - cost me £20...

I would check your battery compartment first though for bent contacts
 
ouch i feel sorry for you, has she said ' you shouldn't off placed it there, its not my fault'

if you are brave open it up as it may be a loose connection, or send it to a dealers

400D . i would guess you may have teenagers as well.:(
always wary about claiming on the insurance, for fear of huge payment next time round. yes i know its why we pay it. had it been the camera , i would claim. battery contacts are fine. the display works , and the backlight, but it wont chagre or fire.

to top that, i spotted a metz 58af-1c. 4 months old on ebay. bid on it ,and was pipped at the post.15 seconds to go.

£300 new. went for £175.appologies for any ***ing:eek:
my daughter has stayed in her room since "the incident".
wise move.
if 4ood is a stude, he prob knows how it feels to be frowned upon then.:lol:
