On our local New Zealand trading site, there was a 5D mk11 with 16-35 f2.8 sell WAY cheap.

The auction closed at $1850 NZD

Now to put things into perspective for you guys, a mint second hand original 5D still go for $2000-2500.

A (rare) second hand mk11 still pulls $3500. New near $4k.

This was recovered property, sold by a disposal company on behalf of an insurer, but here's the kicker.

HE SOLD IT AS A 50D.

Only a couple of vauge photos to see it by.

Anyway, I'm cash strapped and had to let is pass unfortunately.

That's a tough one John. If you're anything like me you won't learn your lesson and you'll still look when you can't buy and this may happen again.

Agreed Darren!! I have numerous saved searches for 'stuff' beit private interest like photography or business equipment etc.

IT's just that you never know... and now and again, this happens, something comes up, and I can't move. BUT I won't cancel the searches because it always pays off.

Some of my best buys have been just like this, wrong descriptions
