For the last 3-4 years I’ve had a Pure Evoke-1 Dab radio which I am generally happy with. Unfortunately every few weeks/months I seem to have a spell of poor reception I have no idea what causes it maybe sunspots or something else way out of my control.
Anyone got any opinions on how I can improve reception i.e. aerial, or a different radio with better reception capabilities etc.
I’m not too keen on the hassle of getting a big fancy outdoor aerial though, are there any easy indoor options?

If the radio does not have a socket for an external aerial there's not much you can do to improve reception except maybe try to find out the cause of the problem (electrical interference from somewhere?).

If you go the new radio route make sure you get one that can accept an external antenna although if your problem is some form of interference you could just end up making things worse.

I've got a socket for an external aerial so I will probably go that route before I buy a new radio. The drop in quality is weird it has been happening for a few years now but not very often and when it does it generally lasts a week or 2. The quality drops from its normal 90+ to -60 sometimes I totally lose stations such as planet rock but 6 music is generally ok.

I'm not aware of anything around me that could be causing any interference, maybe it's aliens :)

Might be transmitter work, you can check for that here... http://www.ukfree.tv/txlisteng.php

Thanks for the link I've just checked and their is currently an issue with the local tv transmitter but they just mention today maybe there has been other issues leading up to today though.
I've ordered an indoor aerial anyway so I'll see if that helps its worth a go much cheaper than leaping in and buying a new DAB radio especially as I have been looking at one that's about £300!!
