D800 + 70-200 bundles?

Looking to buy this combo in the very near future.

Surprised as such a great duo there are no bundle offers available anywhere it seems?

Any one bought this pair and got a good deal, or is it just a case of asking every shop out there?

Rather stick to uk shops btw :)
 
It's not a combination that would 'normally' be offered as a kit of course. You might get a reduction of course but I think you are stuck with asking around as you say.
 
Sorry, meaning the 2.8.
The f4 looks a good lens, but the 2.8 will be needed, and I also will pop on a1.7tc occasionally so that extra stop really helps.

Sent a few emails out and see what responses I get.

It's looking like John Lewis and price matching with a a credit card offering cash back is gonna be hard to beat!
 
When I bought my 70-200 HDEW were a great price...cheaper than they were going for used on here at the time. It's a grey import but with a lens the Nikon warranty is Intl so that makes no difference.
 
I have a sigma 70-200 2.8 OS on my D800 and the resolution/sharpness is incredible. I only really use it for portraits and find the clarity is stunning! Performs better on my D800 than D700
 
It's mad how much cheaper stuff in the uk is if you send an email or 2 out and don't use the list prices. Down to about £3440 now so only a couple of hundred different with HK!

Appreciate the sigma is great too, but to get rid of any 'what ifs' and 'wants' biting the bullet on A d800, Nikkor 70-200 to go with its baby brother 24-70. Apart from an UWA don't think I'll be in the lens shop for 10 yrs plus :) imagine haha
 
IF You try a 14 24 on for size it will be hard to put it back on the shelf - 3 is the magic number:lol:
