I don't think this is just a D80 problem more of an education problem. I take amazing pictures using natural light and flash (Locations) and when in the studio pictures pop out of the LCD at me. Problem is when i get them home and on my iMAC (calibrated) my pictures look flat and dull, the darks seem muggy and the highlights faided. I have checked the camera and have the LCD set to 0 brightness (middle) the only LCD setting i can see.

Any help or advice would really help. :bang: :bonk: :cuckoo:

You printed any out? is it possible that the iMac isn't as calibrated as you think?

FWIW, always had same problem with my D70s, but used to it, a bit of pp returns the pop if it isn't there naturally. I sort of made a [probably wrong] assumption that the smaller screen means the colours are so compresssed it actually sort of intensifies them, if that makes sense? As a comparison I don't get it nearly so much on the larger lcd of the D300, but not sure of screen size on D80 either.

Do you shoot in RAW (NEF)

If so the lcd will show you a jpg version of your NEF file including any in camera adjustments you have set for vibrance, sharpness etc all of which is ignored by the NEF.

Also what Yv says can apply.
