Well I've had my d750 for a long time now,and it's time I had something new, head all over but thinking about the Sony A7 v, will hopefully use for still and video, any advice and suggestions welcome thanks

There is nothing wrong with a7 V - it is a nice refreshed midranger.

This indicates you are looking to get some new E mount lenses and move away from your current ones. If you are not 100% happy with what you have there is little point clinging on to it. Otherwise you would be looking at Nikon body such as Z8 with f mount adapter.

I'd stay with Nikon - body ergonomics have been good from the off, along with viewfinder optics & menu structures. It sounds like you want a Z6iii.

And adapt your lenses, at least to start with.

But if you don't want that Nikon vf brilliance, Panasonic hovers in the background ...

A7V is pretty new, not sure you will find many users of it yet on here. But reviews suggest its an excellent body.
Sony shooter myself and I can suggest the ecosystem.

In the past i have used adapters and to be honest they are fiddly at best and didn't enjoy the experience.
if you are going to buy native lenses anyway and upgrade your lenses too I suggest looking at the system that provides the lenses you need and then picking the body.
if you are happy adapting then makes sense to look at nikon Z offerings.

There are other bodies like canon R6ii and Panasonic S1ii you could also consider.
Personally not a fan of Z6iii because of the worst dynamic range at base ISO. Its on par with APS-C sensors which isn't great.

Why are you looking at Sony rather than a Nikon Z camera? You'd be able to use your existing lenses with the FTZ adapter and plenty options for Z native lenses as you need or want them.

Hi nothing seems to match the video side of the Sony on the videos I've seen especially the z6iii

Certainly interested in hearing how you get along with A7V

There is a Sony users' thread in case you are interested in sharing or need help
