Yes
Focus point set to show in playback randomly doesn't show on LCD regardless of points selected, AF-C, AF-S, ect

Checked everything but can't see why

Any ideas? Cheers

Got a feeling its not a fault its something daft,i used to get it on my PC using ViewNX but old age stops me remembering why.

I read somewhere that the focus point indicator will only show when the focus confirmation circle in the viewfinder is steady, hence if it is juddering it may not show the focus point on playback ... might be worth experimenting.

Thanks for the replies, I've just sorted it (y)

This was happening on the wifes camera but mine was fine (we both shoot D7200) .

I went through the settings on both cameras to find hers was set to shoot even if focus was not confirmed, mine was set to shoot only once focus was confirmed

It appears to show every time now so can only presume when it did't show, focus hadn't been confirmed but the shot still fired.

She'd been complaining one or two shots looked soft, I told her it was user error, it turns out she might not have been completely to blame :D cheers
