Hi,

Does anyone know if continuos auto-focus is meant to work when recording video, or am I doing something wrong? Everywhere I read about it, even in the manual, is sounds like it should work, but after the initial focus, it doesn't ever move.

Suggestions welcome.

Thanks

I'm not sure if continuous autofocus works on a D7000 - but to be honest, I wouldn't even bother trying. AFC in video is hopeless on my d750, it's just not Nikons strong point.

Hi, thanks for clarifying, I'll give up attempting to use it then. Quite disappointing...

Do you need to keep the shutter button half pressed to re-focus?

I use back button focusing but it basically works like AF-S even though it's set to AF-F, so I constantly have to let go and re-press and it can't follow anything moving.

focusibg is awful on the d750 which is a shame as the quality is very good

Sorry to bring to up again, but I tested this on my step-son's D5100 and it works. When I say it doesn't work on my D7000, it's not that it's bad awful, it really does nothing. I have tested it with multiple settings and lenses, and my "Mastering the D7000" book says it should work but after the initial hit it just does nothing. AF-F works exactly the same as AF-S! Tracking works fine, just not focusing.

Do I need to send it off for repair?
