Yes
Is it not possible to use both studio lighting with wireless flash and an SB900 fired by the D700 in Commander Mode.

My flash trigger will not fit on the camera hot shoe while the camera internal flash is popped up as required by the Commander mode.

Is there any work around or any 'vertical' triggers that do not interfer with the pop up flash....or would I blow a diode in the camera by trying to use both??
Thanks
Dave

Put the SB900 in slave mode and let the studio lights trigger it?

Yes, but only if you're using studio heads with the newest intelligent slave functionality, i.e Elinchrom d-lites/bxri and a few more I think...

Otherwise, as above, if you have a sync lead just sync lead to a studio head and put your SB900 and other heads on slave?

Thanks Bryan and Danny, now why did I not think of that, my brains not working today.
Thanks again
Dave

When the onboard flash is in use the hotshoe is disabled and vice versa, so that idea wouldn't work anyway....

Thanks Graham for the added info. about the hotshoe disabling....I didn't know that!!
