Quick question for the guru's....I am mainly using LR2 (sometimes CS3 as well) for PP'ing the RAW files from my D700; should I be using the camera profile ACR 4.6 or is there a better suited profile that I could/should be using?

Many thanks,

Steve

There are much better profiles on offer mate:

Scroll down and click 'Download Camera Profiles'.

It's basically the same Nikon profiles that you have in camera, Standard, Neutral, Vivid etc.

They work very well and I can't recommend them more.

ACR 3.3 and 4.6 are awful in comparison IMO.

Hi Steve,

If you have NX2 I'd recommend spending some time comparing the way the two handle the NEF's from a D700.

I've tried all the profiles in LR2 and certainly for headshots/portraits in natural light the images looked flat to me compared to what NX2 was producing.

I now do basic processing in NX2 and convert to JPEG before opening in LR2 anything elcse thats needed...

I only have LR2 and CS3...:|

Thanks anyway Phil....I'll look into it.
