Bit of a long shot but has anyone any experience of the above combo? Im coming from a D200 with my 70-200VR and noticing the lack of length :naughty: going FX from DX. Thinking a TC will help me out and gain me a bit in the process. I understand theres a drop in f number with the 2x but at that length i.e. 140-400 I doubt I'll really need f2.8? What are peoples thoughts, should I sell up and go sigma 120-300? Is there a noticable drop in quality using the TC? Is this new III version any better than the II. Sorry for all the questions, its not something I anticipated so didnt read too much in to.
thanks
Steve

I've used the 70-200mm vrII with the 2.0 III on FX and have had some great results. It's one of the reasons that I sold the 200-400mm. That and using the 300mm with the 2 x converter.
It's not a cheap combo, but works very well.

Kev.

Is the Nikon 70-200mm VR the mkI or the VRII version

There are links within that lot which tells you...."stop down the lens/zoom out a bit/combine these methods/conclusions"

When I first read it I just thought it was just the one page :$ - but its not. The above are for the other pages....
