D60 vs D60 with VR 18-55 lens?

Is it worth paying the extra for a VR lens or is it just a simple case of having a steady hand?

I would imaging VR would come into play moreso for bigger zooms i.e. 300mm+?

I thought the D60 came as standard with the VR lens. I have the D40X which came with the non VR, but to be quite honest I have noticed any difference with this and my 55-200 VR lens.

So did I. I purchased mine from Currys after paying Jessops a visit. Jessops had the VR, but I purchased it from Currys not realising that it was not VR as they were doing a deal with a bag 200mm lens etc.

It was only when I was reading reviews that I realised that I did not have VR. They have swapped it over collecting from another store tomorrow for an extra £20 no Q asked

That was a bit naughty of them. I know they have the alternative at the side, but when you look at Nikon site and they say it comes as standard it makes you wonder. Bad practice I would say:thumbsdown:
