Hi, i have recently got myself a d60 and have been trying some macro photography in manual mode, i have been using the function button to set the timer to a 2 sec delay but i am having to do that every shot and its annoying but i dont want to set it too 2 sec in the main menu, i just want it too stay on till i turn off the camera or change shooting mode, am i missing something or is this just the way a nikon works

Welcome to TP David.

I suspect you cannot do what you want, Im pretty sure I cant on my Canon(450D). You will have to do it on the main menu (or maybe via a quick link button on the back?) Next time you turn the camera on and go to shoot you'll soon realise you have left it in 2 second mode.
My canon has 4 quick buttons on the back, one for focussing method, one for exposure meter method, one for shooting mode(normal, 2 second delay, 10 second), one for err something else. Maybe yours has similar?
