I have to admit I was getting a bit dubious regarding the sharpness of the tamron G2 lens ,but after watching a couple of u.tube vids that recommended f8 I tried it today and its a world of difference . noise I can deal with soft images not so .. anyway here's one and most other shots are of the same sharpness so well pleased . currently a lot of shots seem underexposed to presume that's camera based im using auto iso and think that might be the problem

marsh grass ...
I have to admit I have been struggling a bit with the camera and lens set up ,had a proper session today took a variety of shots near and distant and although some of its down to heat haze i'm not getting consistent results ..
so on my return I delved into the menu and first off did a focus check and yes its definitely front focussing so after a hour or of alter and check I have knocked the focus back +7 while doing that I also noticed in menu that you can adjust the exposure preset too so as every picture is coming out under exposed I have knocked that up 2/3rds of a stop on the two main modes just need to pop out and try again in real time .I'll get it right eventually been down this path to many times befor

Update well the micro adjust worked extremely well , got a few good bursts in focus which I haven’t succeeded in doing before .. might still need further adjustment in the exposure set up but need to try other methods first. ,but I’m happier with it now

You seem to be pulling out some great shots here Jeff, are you enjoying the Nikon over the Olly as you seem to post more Nikon shots these days it seems. Would be good to hear your views Matey

Disregard this Jeff as I have just seen you running two systems post.

Hi alby at the moment I tend to be picking up the Nikon first , the flexibility of the zoom also helps , .. but it’s horses for courses I do like the look of the Nikon files but both do the same job differently

Hey Jeff have you thought about trying that 150-600 on the om-1 with an adapter?
Yes certainly have alby , only trouble being there all dumb adaptors so it’s gonna be 1200 mm equivalent with manual focus .. got one on my evil bay watch list but not sure might suit the sigma 150 mm macro better hmmm
