Bit crap i must say when they have to wait for Parts like that.....Very Poor Nikon...
Ive had it 6 months, so not sure how i stand there. To be honest Gramps, I'm kinda happy Nikon have it, at least then when it comes back its had a full health check. a new 1 Could i say Could have issues too....ive just been buying up 30 year old Minolta MD lens for the A7Rii and I'm having fun whilst i wait for it.. so I'm pretty cool.Just thinking, would it have been possible to decline repair and insist on a replacement?

When I got the rear LCD screen on the D500 replaced by Nikon they quoted 2-3 weeks but did it within 10 days. Which was a nice surprise,Shutter Plate Unit is being replaced, Lead time 1 to 2 weeks

No. Generally speaking, a manufacturer's warranty alllows them to repair or replace at their discretion.Just thinking, would it have been possible to decline repair and insist on a replacement?
Doesn't the buck stop with the seller then? No. Generally speaking, a manufacturer's warranty alllows them to repair or replace at their discretion.
No, you have to let them repair, I had that with a Leica binocular although it only took seven days from my dispatch to having them back in the hand.Doesn't the buck stop with the seller then?
Just checking the new consumer law, they have to replace (if requested) within the first 30 days and there is an additional requirement within 6 months where a repair has failed. No, you have to let them repair, I had that with a Leica binocular although it only took seven days from my dispatch to having them back in the hand.

Good to know time scale from order to delivery, I will be ordering mine Thursday.
Anyone shooting just jpeg with their D500?
I hear stories of people getting good results but I don't see the advantage of shooting in RAW then loading into Capture NX-D prior to Photoshop.
If you shoot in jpeg why, what do you think of your results ... and what settings do you use?

I tried some processing with raw images but found the jpegs are just as good (for me anyway).
All my images in the 'what birds have you seen today' thread are.
Shooting my football matches, I started out with just RAW. Now I shoot RAW + JPEG so that if I need to edit any more than usual, I have the RAW file. JPEGS seem to do the job in that respect. Always shoot just RAW though with my bird images.
What are your jpeg settings in camera?
