Same problem with the D750. I contacted Nikon and they were less than helpful and told me there were stock and buy direct from Nikon... the price was about £500 more than Jessops/Currys etc!
Yes Nikon do seem woefully unhelpful. Asked them about delivery delays and they couldn't say, just told me to ask through the supplier. The supplier said they have no indication whatsoever as Nikon arent telling them.
