Hello All

Was thinking of up grading my camera to a Nikon D40x, does anyone know if my lens I have for my Nikon film camera will be compatiable if I bought just the body of the D40x?

Just think it would be a shame not to use the lens (& Filters) I have already got that cost qutie a bit themselves.:(

Thanks a lot

What lens is it? The most likely answer is yes it will be compatible and work BUT it probably won't autofocus. The D40X will only autofocus with AF-S/AF-I and HSM lenses. :)

Thanks for your reply!:)

To answer your question I have:

Bell & Howell 1:4-5 70-210mm Macrco 52
MC$ 2x tele convert

and Sigma zoom 28-200mm 1:2-5-6

of yer and 52mm skylight 1B

Thanks hope you are well

Yeah, as guessed those will work, but you'll lose Autofocus. It might be worth having aplay to see if this bothers you too much and if it does, try and sell them and replace them with a newer lens. Another option would be to try and look for a Nikon D50 or D70 which should allow you to use the lenses and autofocus. On the good side, the filter will still work on the D40X.

Cheers for your advice.:)

I'm happy that I don't really have to buy the lens again and I think I should learn to get a bit more hands on and focus myself!:naughty:

But that's helpful advice re the D50 I may have a look but short of this point of the autofocus there's not that much difference in the D40 and D50 is there?

Or am I totally losing the plot? Tee hee it is friday the weekend is fair too close for me to use my brain!

Thanks for replying
