D400 in august

You want... speculation?

The D200's initial selling point was $1699 (can only find USD). The D300 RRP was £1449. The D300s is £1039 on Amazon at the moment, RRP originally £1499. All body only.

If it is released, not only will it likely to stay around RRP for a while, but stock is likely to be very low and difficult to come by - as is the case with every single Nikon new DSLR launched. Going to expect to have to pay near RRP (if not RRP itself).

D4 around the same time apprently and will be able to wipe your arse for you!

They will need to make sure they don't over price it with the 7d, it's main competitor, being about £1200.

The D300s was £1100 ish last time I looked and I suspect they both have a rrp of about £1500, the d400 will come down in price with time to roughly the same.

Here's hoping it doesn't confuse arse-wiping and toast-making... :gag:

It also has a little army of nikonites that come out and make the tea, spread the toast, flushes the bog and fetches your slippers. there is no risk of cross-contamination due to them being surrounded by a black (and weather proofed) forcefield! neat eh...

Yeah, i won't be buying one because everyone knows its going to be replaced ;-)

In fact I may even skip that one and the D600, and just wait for the D700 ... hang on I've already got one .... spooky

Don't know what you lot are on about, just get an F. Everything since is just bells and whistles a real photographer doesn't need

Oh and can I ask when does everyone think the D300 will be worth £2.50, because thats all the budget I have to buy a new camera... is that time now?

boo...really want to hold out for a d800 but want/need it before march next year..

It's gotta be about £1500, the D7000 is hovering about £900 or so right?

Mine was 865 from Amazon, Danny.

Well I may get one!!

I like my D300, the only real gripe is the ISO performance. Its not an issue to make me go and buy a new camera now, but at some point when I do change it will be nice to choose between D700 and D400. The D300 is fine apart from those rare occasions I would like to shoot 1600 or 3200 without worrying about the noise.

Cant really think what else I need - extra MP or faste FPS is notreally an issue.

When to sell your old model and wait for the new model to drop to a sensible price,. This always is the dificult question.I gave £4600 for a D3X 2 years ago when list was £6200.So I should sell my camera now and wait six months for the D4 to hit a reality price. But I work everyday with my camera so the ideal situation is impossible

You won't be able to actually get one until March even if they announce it in August and most people won't be able to get one until about this time next year...

Thats how these things work.

Kick a man when he's down - the poor bloke has a quid thirty and you're saying he's gonna have to wait year - you're cruel!!!
