D40 or A200

When you take continuous shots, the camera has to store them in a buffer before saving them on the memory card itself. At some point, the buffer will be full and the camera will have to pause while the buffer saves the images to the card to free up some space.

Mind you, if you keep going at 3 fps for 40 seconds that would be 120 shots (Good at maths me!:D) and I can't see any reason to take that many in one go.

The D60 can do 3fps but the guy in the store said it depends on the memory card and how fast it can buffer (keep in memory before storing) which determins how long 3fps lasts for he said with the memory card I have about 40seconds and the most any memory card can do is 60 seconds. Does anyone know what he meant by this.

When I say lasts for I am mean in continious 'continious shooting,'

i may be wrong but if you shoot in JPEG,the camera will continuously shoot so long as theres space on your memory card.with RAW files being uncompressed, and therefore larger in size..after you have shot x amount of shots, the camera needs to transfer the data to the memory card at a given write speed..

i'm sure will come along and explain in better detail, but failing that, post the question in the talk equipment section on here.

Hey Guys last question before I depart for Dream Island

How difficult is it to clean the sensor, I know the d60 has self cleaning but surly it will clean it so far. I heard that the dust is stored at the bottom of the camera how do I empty this dust.
