Yes
Hi all,

Looking at getting a d300s asap, seen some prices around the £1k mark but upon further investigation the sites seem dodgy.

Can anyone recommend somewhere?

Cheaper the better :D

Well I have a large shopping list, grips etc etc

But I can only just about afford a body for now :(

There is not a lot of stock around at the moment as you may have read on here that Nikon had a lot stolen.

We have stock at £1149 which is UK stock with 2 Year Warranty. But you also get some money off other products with up to 3 months to buy them.

Let me know if you want further details,

Stuart

Depends if youre going to buy some lenses as i got money off with Nikon plus from Jacobs

I am also shopping around, any recommendations?

Is it the best time get one or would holding out a little bit longer be a good idea?

cheers

I got a D300s RGB Photo about 2 months ago for about £1119. :) It was the cheapest at the time, and looking at the CameraPriceBuster website, prices haven't come down much at all.

I also got a Nikon 16-85mm VR lens from them at the same time because they were one of the cheapest for that also, and it was easier to get both from them for the sake of saving £5.

Got mine from here, but you would have to be quick as soon as they get some in they go - you will have to check every 1-2 days thou as sometimes they have a couple in... Got mine for £1050..."exchangemasters"

If they are in short supply for whatever reason, then I can't see the price coming down.

No need for them to.

To those who bought them b/n, do they come factory sealed?

The reason I asked this is due to a reply by one seller on amazon when a customer left a negative feedback due to poor packaging and that the camera box wasn't sealed. The seller's reply was : "There is no sealed Nikon Box; unlike sony camera."

I just got mine from Currys, delivered last week, £1115. No seals on the box but it does come with the 2 year warranty on it. I still have the box sat here next to me as I keep delving into it for the manual (plus I'm too lazy to put it away in the loft)

I got mine around Xmas time from Amazon and yes the packaging was very poor. There was only the Nikon box inside a larger cardboard box with no other protection. (I kicked up a major fuss and managed to get some money back)

My Nikon box did not have a seal on it.

When I got my d5000 from Cliftons it wasn't sealed either. IIRC Trig's got his sealed from exchangemasters.

Same here with mine from exchangemasters....

It had the 2yr warranty sticker & all the accessories etc were sealed inside.. I even checked the serial number's - against the box - warranty slip - camera to make sure that it was a UK model as well....

I dont think that I have ever has a sealed box & I have brought new a D40, D60 & D90... Even with lenses they have never been sealed...

It had one of those little round plastic sellotape seal thingys on it.... Prob to stop the box coming open..... Was about as much use as a plastic fire guard thou.....

Was sealed-ish if you get my meaning....

Thats the dude that Gio is on about here....

If you google these by their address & postcode it shows as a lump of waste ground - also for a business seller why just have a mobile number???

I asked them if it's possible to see the camera in person at their shop but have not received any reply. It is apparently available for collection but cash only. A Latvian seller is offering a b/n body for only £850 free p&p. Caveat: the seller has a nil feedback!:nono:

I agree with Steve, I can't seem to find the business address of these sellers.

The business name pulls no results at companies house or non-limited co searches on the standard databases.

The address is legit (although a little misleading). Pinnacle is a block of flats (a large one at that) in Heritage Avenue, Barnet.

Hope that helps in the decision process.

Barney
