I have been trying to work out if my D300S can fire my SB700 remotely via Infra Red (or some way other than firing the on-board flash). I don't think I can but the assistant in my local camera shop thinks I should be able to, although wasn't sure exactly how.
Ultimately if I want to achieve either a back or side-lit effect the on-board flash 'fills in' more than I would like it to. I want to try and do this without buying yet more kit if possible.
Any ideas?
