D300s £978 from quality supplier!!!

and £200 cashback if you buy a £400 lens at the same time!

16-85? nice lens, or 70-300VR same!

All I want is the Voigtlander 20mm! the Nikon 20mm f2.8 is to big!

I know the 16-85mm is better than the 18-105mm but not that much better? and the 70-300mm certianly isn't the same as the siggy 70-200mm f2.8!

Stuart

the 70-300 is sharp like you wouldnt believe, not really used the 16-85 enough to comment but the build is way better than the 18-105....

now out of stock! sold out overnight!!!

- but it's out of stock - a common trick!

It was in stock for a good part of the time since posting. The 'email me when in stock' link isn't available so I guess they are clearing stock?

and with Photokina in a few weeks, might this be a sign of a new model coming out?

Have a look at the price trend here

http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod1165.html

That much of a cut looks like a clear sign of dumping stock

it's only a drop in the lowest price, due to the John Lewis offer, and it clearly hasn't picked up that JL is out of stock at that price. All the other prices remain where they were.

At one point, it was definitely £990 from amazon, don't know why it's not on that graph :/ A friend bought one...

Camera Price Buster doesn't get every deal at every seller....

...... I was watching the downward trend, not just the John Lewis. Also the £200 off deal (or £400 with lens).

With the data on the nikon rumours site showing the D700 replacement of the D7000 looking like a Photokina launch, the D300s might be due for an upgrade too.

If John Lewis is clearing stock.....

true, true... though the D7000 spec looks a bit too close to what you'd imagine the D400 to be for them to announce them at the same time.

Either way, annoyed I missed this... my brother works for the group, so could have got 12% off....

The D7000 is supposed to be the replacement for the D90 giving D3x00,D5x00 & D7x00 as consumer cameras. With D300s, D700 and D3s/x for pros

Don't give up folks, It came up out of stock on Saturday night when I tried to order one, so I phoned them up and told them that it had gone to out of stock while I was ordering it and the guy checked the availability at various stores. They had 4 at London Oxford street, phoned them on Sunday, they confirmed they had one for me (although it took them three and a half hours to phone me back) ordered it and recieved it yesterday, although there was one or two issues with the postage that had to be sorted out. Now just got to peruse my way through the inch thick users manual.

Still says out of stock but the price has gone up to £1139 so it looks like I've just saved myself over £160.:clap::clap:
