Ive got ViewNX and have only tried using it today due to me only shooting in RAW this weekend (been a JPEG shooter!)
This might sound like a stupid question but when i view the thumbs of my shots the are all in colour, however when i double click them to view in full screen i get a green version of the image. Have i got some viewing option turned off or on which makes it show shots like this as id like to see them in their proper state as oppsed to green??

Not heard of this happening before.. Is it the ViewNx v2 that its happening to?

Just checked and im running Version 1.0.3. Havent been able to get my head around it, shows all images other than small thumbs in 100% green and cant seem to change it, its probabaly me doing something wrong but god knows what lol!
Have downloaded Faststone and it seems to be a good alternative though

When you say mess, are you talking about composition or colour, light etc...?
Don't forget you are not looking at a processed picture.

long story short; i was playing about with my camera and stumbled upon an albino squirell! i tryed to get some shots of it but i had a 50mm 1.8 prime on at the time. that and bad lighting ment they didnt come out the best but some look ok. i would have changed to a longer lens but i thought if i miss this then i may aswell give up!
also i was in "A" mode at the time and panic stricken so i dont know what sort of F number i had on...
what would have been the best settings to use in this situation:
- overcast day (very cloudy)
- in a wooded area so even darker
- time was approx 2:30pm
i remember the iso (on auto) was throwing up 3200..
i will stick the (better) shots i got in the c&c section when i get a chance.

Good job you shot them in RAW - easier to sort out!
yeah that is what i thought, plus all the pro's shoot in RAW so i thought "whats the point in beating about the bush, lets get straight into pro mode!"
should have done a bit more homework first.

"A mode" at f/8 and auto ISO up to ISO3200 would be a decent walk around setting I would say.
The darker surroundings should be combated by the higher ISO.
Once you fired your "oh my God I need to shoot that right now" shot, you can have a play with the setting a bit. Take the aperture down to f/1.8 and get some nice depth of field.
The reason I asked about if it was composition or not is because when I have viewed RAW files in programs other than Photoshop they always look dull and dreary.
