Hi,

I was reading a couple of posts below re the cost of the D300 - one member was saying he paid over £800 duty free.

I bought mine 3 weeks or so ago, for less than £800 with next day delivery. It was a UK camera, and I had no problem registering it with Nikon, and getting the extended warranty.

I quite understand the reticence with which some people regard new cameras from Ebay, but this was a gem of a purchase with a seller who provides email address, telephone number, and UK after-sales service.

Here is another D300 from the same seller.

Theres no problem buying anything off ebay as long as you research the item and the seller properly.
I sold most of my old cameras on ebay and have bought loads of stuff.
The only time I bought a dud was from Amazon where I thought I had bought a genuine Hoya Pro 1 filter. Three months on and the coating was coming off and the seller no longer trades with them....

Good buy Doug ( on getting the camera, not goodbye!)

Did the D300 come out before or after that container ship ran aground?

The D300 was new, UK stock, with full Nikon extended UK warranty. It has been registered with Nikon UK.

Bargain!

Hell of a good price for a great camera, mine cost me £1060  and if you have registered it with Nikon for the 2 year warranty should be no probs whatsoever, well done Doug

Purchased, thanks :)

I recently bought my first DSLR camera (Nikon D40) and I pondered for about a week on where to buy it. The choice was ebay, Amazon, Jessop’s or a high street retailer with an online shop. Although I have bought and sold on ebay loads of times I finally decided on buying from Dixons.co.uk mainly for peace of mind. I could have saved £20 buying it from Amazon but I have never purchased from Amazon before and wasn’t sure if I would still get the 2 year cover or if was actually brand new. I ended up taking an extra years cover when I registered my camera with Nikon just for added peace of mind!
