D200 not available!

I rang Jessops in Newcastle today to order a D200 for work. Was told they had received an instruction a week or so ago not to order in or sell anymore for the time being. The sales guy didn't know why and wouldn't elaborate.

Anybody any thoughts? Seems strange.

Seems... Bizzare.
Not really sure why that is, but here's a possible scenario :
The D200's were selling well, but lots of people were using their price matching. They may have been selling them at an unnaceptably small profit, or even a loss.

good point. AJPurdy offered one at £999 (body ony) which I thought was reasonable.

Having had a little hunt, it seems that Jessops have stopped stocking the D200 nationwide - but nobody is saying anything about why. I've read several reports of people trying to buy today, only to be told they can't. Even when they're in stock.

Something weird be a happening in the land of the big J!
