Hi. I recently bought a d lite 4 kit. It came with a skyport Eco. I've tried to sink it with my canon 60d but it just won't work. The lights and flash work fine with out the skyport but when I connect it the flashes only fire when I push the skyport test button ? I'm probably just being spastic. But could anyone help me out. Watch the video it came with but not much help!! Looked on u tube amd couldn't real find anything of use.

Thank you

It may be the connection between the hotshoe and the unit. The older units (new skyports have a lock on) did tend to have more issues with this and misfires.

My camera is brand new and so are my Elinchroms. Could this still be the case. As I can't see where it locks on. Did jiggle it a bit to try get them to sandwich on properly. But I'm just not having any luck.

I don't have a 60d but could there be a setting in the menu for disabling the hotshoe flash/trigger?

Have you tried to change the batteries (if you can of course)

Does the d4-it still come with sync cables? If so try this and try and eliminate where the problem might be.

Good idea with sync cable. Will try that. When I attach my off camera flash it automatically works so not sure if I need to change a setting for hotshoe but another good consideration. Batteries are ok brand new and skyport works when not plugged into camera. But will try sync cable first. See if that works and fiddle on sky port remote again. Thanks.

G'day Smurf,

I just bought the same kit today and i have the same problem with my 60D!....Could you please tell me if you found a fix cause i need to use them for a shoot tomorrow and without the trigger it's going to be a nihtmare

cheers
Cagey.

Phone The Flash Centre and make sure you've got it hooked up right.

I had same problem with my kit although i'd been using the kit for sometime there had been a spell where it wasn't used and the skyport transmitter had been sitting in my bag. Was on a job and had a total panic, changed batteries and everything i could think of. Sat and read the manual and it said something about holding the button down on the top of the transmitter (think its the test button) for several seconds and it changes the mode. This worked for me. Maybe worth a try if you haven't already done this.

I know this was a question from a while back. But I finally figured things out. Connections according to instructions is essential but if the viewer on the LCD screen of your 60d is on it won't work. So you need to look threw the eye piece as apposed to using the little LCD monitor on the camera
