d 800 / aperture help

Help...just tried uploading first shots (raw) to aperture...computer says NO ...
actually it says unsupported file type...where am i going wrong?...I am running osx 10.6...and aperture is 3.2.4 version....is this because something needs up-dating or because i have not installed view NX2 ?

Can you update Aperture, it probably needs a camera raw update to read the D800 files.

You need to update to OSX 10.7.4 or later. Or possibly, Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 3.13. If you run "software update" it should bring everything up to the latest compatibility they're capable of running.

Thanks guys..have updated to osx mountain lion...and aperture 3.4.5...everything seems to work ok...except aperture will not download raw files from the d800!..I have downloaded digital camera raw 3.13.. But can't seem to install on the mac as it says there is a later version already installed ...how do I remove the later version ? So that I can install 3.13?...any help gratefully recieved.. Bingo!!...turns out that aperture thought yesterdays failed download was there,..turning off "don't import duplicates" solved the problem..so it looks like all is well...thanks to those who responded. Steve.
