got my new d300 friday taken a few pictures in neff but i cant open them up
in coral photox2

Quick look at Corel's site says that D300 NEF's are not supported by Corel yet.

The software that came with your D300 will open, and convert them in the meantime. You should have a 30-day trial of CaptureNX as well...
 
so in other words i need a new program
any suggestions
 
Did you get the full version of Capture NX in the box? If so, you can use that, or you may just have the trial version.
If that isnt in the box, you can download it from Nikon, you get 30 days free. ....Edited....

NX2 is out and available for a 60 day trial from Nikon's website.........

Failing that, viewNX is on the cd that came with the camera and will convert nefs to jpegs or tiffs for you I believe.
 
got the 60 day trial but i still need to by somthing
 
Also, check your camera is set to USB rather than MTP/PTP.
 
my old d200 can be read on any program but nikon changed the raw files
dont know why.
i will try the usb setting tonight.
i have been told adobe programs also need a patch/upgrade
so is eliment 6 a good program
 
Lightroom 1.0 and Photoshop CS2 supported my D80 fine but not the my D300. I've had to upgrade Lightroom and Photoshop lol.
 
Convert them using the Adobe DNG converter, and then open/edit them? (I assume Corel Photo X2 will open DNG)
