Hi all, Does the d 300 battery grip shutter release not work unless there are two batteries in , ie an el3e in both the camera , and the grip base. ? also in the menu, where is the battery settings configuration located ? Many thanks

It should work automatically with only one battery in the grip, well at least mine used too :)

The genuine Nikon grip (MB-D10) should work with just one battery in it, the same may not hold true for the copies...

Thanks , its a copy, is is supposed to have the camera battery in as well as the grip one too ?

In the case of a copy...

Just because it looks like the real thing doesn't mean it works the same way.

Where did you buy it?

Off our local e bay Phottix brand bp d300. Its just that the real deal is about 25% of the camera cost here and I really only want the comfort I assume its supposed to have both batteries operational camera and grip that is. comes with the a and 8 aaa packadapters too for nz $165 Nikon new is $600

My D300s works with one in either or one in both, but it is a genuine Nikon unit.
