The TP 52 - 2025 Cuthbert's 52 for 2025

I think the sun lighting up the side rather than the front is possibly the better shot in my eyes, love the really low angle!

Thank you everyone for your nice words.

The light at the back of the house gave more texture as you can see below, but the back view was a lot messier, it was quite hard to find an angle thh he at kind of felt balanced. It’s an interesting find, and I’ve been there a few times but it does seem the very early morning is the best time go. Maybe if I’m feeling energetic I’ll take a ride out!

Lovely pooch pic :)

Really nice Mark, I always love a good dog portrait!

Thank you Bill, it’s not for everyone but I love just making the everyday look a bit less mundane.

So for this it obviously would have been better if the sun was on the front of the building, but that would have meant getting up a 4am lol

Really like that, is it the deserted fire station from Trumpton Cuthbert ?

Always love a dog portrait! And your deserted shot is great, very eerie

Last Resort - perfect, very clever homage with just the right processing.

Lost in Thought is very original for the theme.

Good set Mark, I think that my favourite is your "Out of Office" shot.

Great set with the seaside being a perfect place to capture vibrancy. Really liking the Souvenirs shot and Out of Office, was that done using a starburst filter?

Thank you Boots and Darkslinger!

Thank you! - it was, nothing special - I use a combination of these https://amzn.eu/d/eanKfvJ and https://amzn.eu/d/iBEQK2H - got a 1/4 and 1/8 mist filter. I sometimes stack a mist with the starburst for an extra glow,

Here’s a pic with both filters stacked which has a kind of nice glowyness that I think can add a nice dreamy analog feel in some pics.

Some lovely photos there Mark, the filters have worked really nicely.

A photo here from Es Cana in Ibiza last week when I was on my holiday - beautiful and interesting part of the world. Sadly, you don't get much of a golden hour there though... more like a golden half an hour.

Thank you Allan!

Low effort one this week I'm afraid, had an idea for Movement but just couldn't be in the right place at the right time

Perhaps crop it down by 50% or so, get the focus onto the light through the right window and the moving fan?

Thanks Alan, I actually didn’t take this photo specifically for movement but submitted it because it had movement in (and why it’s not really a great fit) - this is for another piece of work I’m putting together as a joke - for a novelty Xmas present for a few friends and family I’m making a little photo book of all the nice places I’ve been to but putting in pictures of clutter and junk. None of the usual touristy views. This was at Anglesey Abbey and I love how national trust places are feature trove of pointless opulence and clutter lol

The photo I waned to take for movement was a light trail that in theory would look good from a bridge that’s not too hard for me to get to, but a combination of me not being in the right place and the weather meant I just couldn’t turn it around in time. I will try and do it though in the next week or so!

A couple this week. I went with this one as it’s a bit less conventional

But I liked the inner structure that was visible on this one, it was a close call, I liked them both for different reasons, but I do admit insects to require a lot more patience than I think I have.

Love the sinister look of the first spider!

Your pets shot is adorable! And insects a little less cute, but I like your chosen shot for the unusual lighting, but can see why you had a hard time choosing between the two!

Lovely light on all of those Mark!

Thank you Dave, I really love this time of year, May and September, hoping the weather stays clear so we can get as much colour out of these last few weeks before we get to dullness! Loved your sunset too, very similar end of summer vibes!

Thank you again everyone for the kind words, the light really helped making a normally quite dull field look quite magical.

Just one this week

LOL, I don't want to write what I thought of when I first glanced at this image...just sayin',,,

All jokes aside, it's a good image, the Pulp Fiction shirt really makes it.

Interesting. Dunno who she is but I bet she's from Frankfurt :D
