This has been discussed as a possible feature of iPhone6 (and could apply to any phone) - I cant see how it would be of benefit, as would it not make the phone feel larger in the pocket? Any insight on this?
I would hate it. There was a time when companies played with curved in CRT monitors. Unsurprisingly the technology did not become popular. Flat is still the order of the day.
This is already in play by LG and Samsung with some of their Android phones, the LG carries it off nicely as the phone can flex so it is less susceptible to long-term damage by sitting on it.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus had curved glass (not screen) and was unveiled in October 2011, so this has been a long time coming and certainly not unique to iPhone 6 rumours.
My favourite though, is this, another Samsung phone and displayed quite a cool trick, which is notifications which scroll along the edge, so easy for glancing at if you had it on a desk, I think this was more a working prototype than anything else, but still quite innovative, especially for Samsung
