I know it might seem strange to be buying a camera from Currys but I wanted to get the wife a D3100 for Xmas.

Cheapest place on camerapricebuster.co.uk was Currys with a £25 web discount. I spoke to an assistant in store who matched this offer. So it you are planning to buy any electricals this week it might be worth give this a look. I do however know that not all stores will match this but when you tell them that you will just go and buy online they seem more flexable.

They are often cheapest for things, you just have to remember to check them along with the others.
 
I am happy to buy stuff from Currys.
We got our DSLR there, and they're always happy to exchange or refund without any trouble in our Carlisle branch.
They are also pretty cheap if you shop around.
 
My local Currys has a bigger range of stuff than the nearest Jessops and has models up to D300 and 7D. Always worth checking prices there.

They have an ok basic camera bag for £9.99 - mine holds my D90 with kit lens, 50mm and flash, plus cards, purse, phone etc.
 
If currys or pc world don't want to match their net price just go online and do a click and collect.

I had a salesman refuse to price match a while ago, so I went outside and reserved it online on my phone, waited 5 minutes and went back in. The same salesman had to serve me and sell it at the cheaper price. He did feel like an idiot I could tell by how red he went, right to the tips of his ears :lol:
 
I got my camera from Currys, their warranty was far better than anyone else and they price matched to a local independent store. I wanted more and the guy eventually ended up knocking £50 off the price plus 3 months free warranty (you pay £5 a month to cover EVERYTHING)
 
Nikon have just announced a cashback promotion on the D3100 beginnig today - an even bettter buy;)
 
currys will always do a price match with established photographic retailers). you just have to ask.

Last time I bought a camera off em, the guy even included free accidental damage cover
