My D600 arrived yesterday from Curry's via DPD. Completely amazed to find it had been sent in a tight fitting Jiffy bag! Not even an expensive one, one of those super cheap thin things, the packing/pick sheet was actually scrunched up in the top of the pack, no way it was 'folded and placed' in the bag.

Of course the box looks like its done a couple of circuits of a warehouse and van floor.

The camera is fine but I'm still pondering sending it back as who knows quite how much 'bouncing and banging' its suffered :-/

Perhaps though I'm just being anal?

Don't know what the internal packing is like for the D600, that will be the most important thing, however the box is all part of the camera's resale value and if it is really damaged I would certainly consider sending/taking (if there is a store locally) it back and pointing out that you are not happy that the camera has been sufficiently protected from damage in transit.
In all likelihood it's fine but it shouldn't be sent in a way that any part of the product gets damaged.

Did it have complimentary shoe marks on the envelope? Another courier company I am now dealing with seem to mark their parcels.

LOL, no but it was a darker shade of gray!

DSG are really poor with their packaging, no matter how expensive an item, it always turns up in a grey mailing bag without even a hint of packaging. Its always painful

On the other hand, I once ordered a 50mm l.8 lens from Canon outlet on ebay, it turned up in a 1 square feet solid box with an apology note for inappropriate packaging
