Curry's are currently offering free next day delivery if ordered by 9pm, I ordered last night at 8pm and immediately received a confirmation email stating my order would be delivered by the 16th via standard delivery !. After a wait of over 15 minutes to get through to their customer services I asked for an explanation and was told they had no idea why that was and I was not the first to complain !.

I have cancelled and will buy elsewhere, never did like Currys anyway as they do not have all that good a reputation.

Then why did you buy from them in the first place.

At this time of year we never guarantee next day deliveries. The couriers are bogged down with parcels and it's inevitable that some will be delayed.

Why I bought from them is irrelevant, neither is my post about a parcel being delayed.

??

I suggest you have a word with your big boss man then as they are currently running the following promotion which they have displayed prominently on their homepage

It is relevant though if you then make a statement about never liking then anyway and commenting on their less than good reputation.
Not sure why you'd buy anything from a company that you don't like, unless it was a real bargain not available anywhere else.

It happens, especially at this time of year, even Amazon have let me down on next day delivery on more than one occasion. To be fair to Curry's its might not even their fault but the courier.

Your post gave the impression you worked for Curry's

Sorry, No I don't.
If you click the link from their banner though you will see that there is small print which I'm sure they will use to their advantage.

Such as "Next day delivery is offered in most areas, subject to available slots."

and "Next day and time slot delivery are not available on extended range of products for home delivery (as indicated on the product page and confirmation page). For next day delivery, an extra £6 will be charged per additional unit on the same order."

I agree the banner is a bit misleading. Maybe a quick email to the ASA.

LOL whatever :D ..........................now back to the point..............

I sent a parcel yesterday RM from NW England to S Wales & paid for guaranteed 24 hr delivery........it took em 24 hrs & 23 mins!
(Cheeky feckers. Maybe I should complain :D )

Anyone would think it's Christmas. :)

To be fair to Currys, I ordered a Canon compact for my son a couple of weeks ago and it arrived the next day.

Ah but they crossed the Welsh date line which adds 24.59 minutes to GMT! Don't you know boyo?

Complain they often give you credit if they have missed the delivery :D

Sigh......if only some would read more than just the title before hurriedly posting their comments !

On the original point - on Monday I ordered a Fuji XF27mm f2.8 that had suddenly dropped to £188.
I paid for it immediately and chose next day collection (after 5pm) from my local branch.
The order was immediately confirmed, as was the availibility of the lens and collection point.
Today, three days later, the lens has not appeared, and the price is now £300 !!
Interesting isn't it ?
