Curry's and PC world

Known for years.

Its the same in the plumbing/bathroom stores/trade counters as well

I've just bought a couple of TVs from Currys in Blackpool. The salesman was excellent, he really knew his stuff and wasn't at all pushy. Not at all what I was expecting to be honest and a very pleasant surprise.

Good to hear :) Nice when someone speaks up about the good service they receive, usually only the bad ones we hear so thanks

Sorry, was being sarcastic, all we've heard recently is how amazing Best Buy are going to be and how its the end of the world for the rest of the electronic retailers

That's ok. Best Buy is a really good place - in the US. Big. Lots of stuff. Wide range. US prices [obviously]. Somehow I can't see them doing a straight transfer over here. And of course, the prices will be ramped up to subsidise the US shoppers.

Went into PC World to look and sales guy told me that Dell did not know what they were on about and tried to sell me an Acer:bang:  so needless to say I left quite promptly none the wiser and still no laptop, now really losing my nerve about buying one.

Why do some of the laptops not have a key pad, important to me when doing the VAT and stuff, can't faff around with the number keys on the top I don't like it. :shake:

Amazon have one new at £479 here. It is not coming direct from Amazon but you are still fully covered by their guarantee.

Space.

I'd rather have a decent full sized qwerty layout on a laptop than a smaller keyboard with a keypad. Likewise I (like most other folk) would like the letters to be slap bang in the middle of the screen so I don't have to either have the screen, or my hands, off centre when I'm using it.

Considered this?

Or for wireless goodness...
