Current trends due to become loathed

I hate bad HDR too

White is here to stay for a lot longer because it fits home decor so well

I quite like really string background colours but they don't get chosen often because of home colour schemes.

Baby props will be here for ages

Not sure about Instagram, it makes us professionals look like iPhone types

At the end of the day , virtually anything well and subtly done is worth keeping - and anything overblown in a cheap and tacky manner is not

Remember those god awful filter shots from the 80s and early 90s , tobacco grads, sunset grads, heart shaped starbursts - Yuech :puke: - but they didn't mean that no one should ever again use an ND grad

The fact is if a photographer does a certain style well people will want it. I still get 90% of my family customers asking for white background type photography... like venture stuff. I then tend to give them what they want for some of the shoot and what i want for other part. If they choose what they asked for great, if they like what i give them great aswell.

I do a fair bit of prop heavy baby sets and naked babys on beanbags.... Why? A. They look good and i enjoy shooting them, but most important B. They sell.

Some may see them as overdone but the fact is clients thing they look great and if done well (which i think i do) they make money.

Totally agree. The sensible approach is this - to provide the customer with what they want, and then maybe introduce something more in line with the photographer's taste as an aside.

My kids are grown up now, but if I had a newborn, I would probably want one of those type of shots doing too.
