This is my current setup..

Rooms 11x9ft
White vinyl BG - 2x6m on a roll hung close to the ceiling pretty much width of the room, trail of around 2m.
Lights - 3 heads with octabox, BD, softbox.

I've been experimenting with getting a white background and with alot of fidling it works but not entierly happy with it plus I don't really like the white much anyway.

What I was thinking before I purchase anything else is with just using the unlit white BG model stands around 2ft from the BG would that be enough room to use say a Geled Flash with standard reflector + grid just pointed straight at the background, hopeing this will help break the model from the background as well as make the background a little less plain.

Also any other ideas for confined space Portrait work, for the record I don't want a hilite

Example of a standard shot from couple weeks back, no BG light.

& another shot with using 40cm BD+Grid & a Octabox on the left to fill in a bit.
Link to shot too large

something weird with second shot either you are using a really really wide lens or you stretched it vertically

to get proper white use 2 of those heads on the bg in umbrellas or softboxes then get your model way further away than 2'

the grid gives you a fall off that needs to be thought about (confused the crap outta me for a while as its round straight on but isn't at an angle (booming it high central can look cool) 11' isn't masses of room but should do for 3/4 stuff just get the bg as close to the 9' wall and you as close to the opposite wall
