It's times like this I wished they would have a default setting for Adobe CS6 for when you accidentally click on a setting without knowing what you have clicked on.

My problem is this, content aware works fine on an uncropped image, but when working on a cropped image when I hit delete it creates "layer 0" on the sidebar, and at the same time the outlined area shows up checkered.

Hope I have made myself understood as photoshop is not my strong point.

You just need to delete your prefs file

hold down Alt, Ctrl, and Shift keys (Mac: Command, Option, Shift) while starting up Photoshop. A dialog box will appear asking if you wish to delete the preferences/settings file

Cheers Dave, trying, but not there yet :s

When you crop the image, I bet you have "delete cropped pixels" unchecked.

Think about checking this if you don't like the behaviour.

Dave, couldn't get that to work for me, obviously not doing it right :bonk:.

Jonathan, you win the bet, cheers,

Many thanks to both of you

Dave, is that what I need to do next time I hit something accidentally, is that the next best thing to default setting ?.
