hi all, just got cs5 and from what iv seen on utube its unreal.
anyone else got it and how do u find it?
i`m looking for a step by step book as i`m new to photoshop if anyone knows of one ??

It's the dogs danglies, not sure about any books, I've used it since version one so pretty much got the hang of all of it now

Its pretty good. Most of the time, Its not any different from CS 2,3,4 - by that I mean as a photographer, you dont need half the stuff it does, and you only scratch at the surface of what it is capable of
Forget puppet warp, or muppet warp

Content aware fill is pretty neat

Some stuff like NIK filters only works in the 32 bit version

If you have a PC that can leverage it, then it flies. Mine opens in 2 seconds

What is better is CS5 Dreamweaver... some big changes in there :-)

yea I got this, mostly use the spot healing brush in either replace or normal. moved up from PS7.01. forget the books you will find what you want to know (with demo) on Utube.

If you want a really good book on CS5 I'd have a look at Scott Kelby's one. Check it out on Amazon

Can i ask what the changes to dreamweaver are? I still use cs3 from time to time and it really irks me the amount of superfluous code that it adds to the source code.

Live view is very neat for pages with JS. Also more support for PHP. They are 1/2 way to having the equivalent of WAMP in the package

The source code is pretty neat, and it seems to be pretty valid

I have just got hold of CS5 and it does look impressive. Does anyone know of a good book or training video series?

"The Lynda Photoshop CS5 Essential Training Video" is pretty informative.. done by a guy called Michael Ninnes who does the actual training on the video you will find it at Lynda.com I think :)

no talk of naughty things please

Soz to OP for going OT here:)

Richard - if you mean this (as mine takes 20+ secs to open) what sort of pc spec do you need to make this stuff fly??? :help:

My current one 'sounds' good enough spec-wise but clearly isn't :shake:

Cheers
