CS5 save as jpeg help

i take my pics in raw on my canon 1 dmkII so when i edit a 5-8 meg pic and do the slightest of crops and save as a jpeg and select max quality 12 it drop the file size to 1.5 meg ish.

I asked a fried to edit some of my pics and they saved them as 2.5 - 3 meg with a bigger crop than i did.

Is there a setting i have changed for this to happen or am i doing something wrong.

Hi Martin, are you cropping or reducing the size? Give a step by step list of what you do and which programme you are using (and which programme they used)

hi christine, Thanks for reply, but i was speaking to someone at the weekend and have sorted this for me. i redone a pic and the file size is 2 1/2 meg bigger for the same size of crop.
