CS5 question

I have been using CS5 for processing some portrait stuff that I am just getting into ( have been using it for other stuf for a while with no problems ) but have found I am using the heal /paint brush, cloning tool etc that cs 5 seems to have a mind of its own and just throws bits of random stuff ( bits of colour, stripes, splodges etc ) anywhere on the image which is a bit of a pain if you dont notice it straight away, has anyone else had this problem and if so is there a answer..

which clone tool are you using.
and have you got aligned turned of, at top in middle tick box turn off then select the bit you want to clone by selecting the area with alt key then away you go, same with heal tool.

You're using content aware.

Have a look at the Clone Source panel on the RH end of the top tool bar. Check the `clipped` box and see if it makes any difference. And if you have `show overlay` turned off, you may be dragging bits of image around the place that don't show until you click.

Cheers for the replies, I dumped the image that I was working on, uninstalled CS5 then reinstalled CS5 and reopened image and so far..fingers crossed all is well... thanks for the suggestions anyway ..
