Hi.
Can anyone tell me what difference or which area this controls. Setup setting for this;
View - Proof setup which can be found in PS CS5.
Mine is currently set on " Working CMYK" but have no idea what difference this makes or indeed where..such as printing or screen..

This is what is called " Soft Proof" The idea is to see what the image will look like when printed under different circumstances.

The characteristics of your screen will be different to a printing device. By selecting an output profile, for example a specific inkjet printer/ paper combination you' ll get an idea as to what the final printed image will look like. You can use this information to to adjust the image sent to the printer so that you get the result you are aiming for.

Having said this if you are just viewing on your screen then ignore it. However if you are interested in printing your own images then the first step is to calibrate your monitor/screen, as without this first step it makes any soft proofing option irrelevant.
