I have CS4 on my desktop but wish to upgrade to CS5 but also buy it for my new laptop at the same time. My laptop comes with elements 9. Does anyone know please the most cost effective legal way to go about this. Thanks
 
I believe you can load it on both as long as they are not both being used at the same time.
 
Adobe allow you to put it on a desktop and a laptop, the big problem is when you have a Mac and a PC either way around, then you are buggered and it will cost you double.

If there's not a child in the household, Adobe themselves have a 20% off sale at the moment, working out at ~£153 for the upgrade, can be delivered or downloaded.

Actually, thats not 100% true. I have been running CS4 on my Windows laptop for a couple of years and I was lucky enough to get a new iMac from Santa. I called Adobe and told them I wanted to transfer my CS4 over to my iMac.

CS4 is no longer supported so they offered me a Cross Platform Upgrade to CS5.5. It cost me £150 and I got the full version of CS5.5 on disk and I can still run CS4 on my lappy as normal.

The iMac is brilliant! ;)
 
I understood that the upgrade license requires you to stop using the previous version.

No not at all. I asked the question and was told I can carry on using CS4 as long as I want. Although it isnt supported anymore.

(I am actually using both right now as I transfer some work to my Imac)
 
Thanks, for that, when it becomes time for me to upgrade my CS5 I can get the Mac version and have both formats covered.
 
If you go to the website then it tells you what proof you need.

Very reliable, funded by the industry I think.
