CS5 and mini bridge

Hi, got cs5 and when I click mini bridge tab it says waiting for bridge cs5, it waits... and waits.... and waits.

Am I doing something wrong?

Strange mine opens straight away, is it the same if you open bridge from photoshop

Assuming your in the Essentials workspace, Have you tried to open the main Panel and reset Mini Bridge to defaults

That's right Phil, browse for files and they'll appear in the content box were it says waiting

Well it will till you point to a folder containing the files

You have to actually select a folder in the top of the two boxes, then, after a small wait, it'll load the contents of the directory, allowing you to open the file you want.

red circle no down arrow??

i click the arrow in the blue circle and nothing happens??

everything is in bridge if i open that, and it sends images to ps, just mini bridge aint doin anything......

Adobe know about this problem. They've announced a fix for it, although it didn't work for a friend of mine..

When you browse in Mini Bridge in Photoshop CS5, Bridge CS5 does not open and Mini Bridge displays the error, "Waiting for Bridge CS5."
Solution: Add SwitchBoard.exe to your firewall's exception list.

Hope Steves post helps, also check the hosts file

I was also thinking if you go to bridge and put your Docs or your main download file (Where you save your images when they come off the camera, EG mine are in a folder Canon Eos you can see it in my image) into the favourites you would be able to reach your files from there in mini bridge

Phil, what did you change in the Hosts file?

add this line to your host file

# ::127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com

you may need to change user permissions though.
copy as it is because it needs spaces in the lines
