More questions to all you CS4 mac experts.

Can I set CS4 to open in full screen. When I open the program i have to go into the screen mode and then select full screen with menu.

Is there anyway of setting this as a default..

In view you should see an option to set full screen mode. Alternatively press F to togel between modes ( including full screen)

I think you will find that there is no way of setting anything other than 'Standard' view as the default in CS4. CS3 used to remember your last view, but CS4 doesn't do it as far as I know.

PITA if you ask me!

The only way round it is to open the program as a framed application through preferences.

What you could do is create an action (Insert Menu Item) for "Full Screen Mode With Menu" and set up File - Scripts - Scripts Events Manager to call this action on open document.

Cheers Paul, but you have already lost me.
Could you explain in small chunks cos I am a bit thick hen it comes to computers.

Andy

Glad that its not just me then

Open any document, this is required so that "Full Screen Mode With Menu" is available in the menu.
Start recording a new action..
From the Action Palette flyout menu select "Insert Menu Item..."
Then View - Screen Mode - Full Screen Mode With Menu
Stop the recording.

Now goto File - Scripts - Scripts Event Manager
Tick the checkbox " Enable Events to Run Scripts/Actions:"
Select "Open Document" for Photoshop Event
Select the "Action Radio Button" and select you newly created action.
Click the "Add" button then the "Done" button
Now every time you open a document it will run your action to put the screen mode to Full Screen with Menu.
Hope this helps.
