cs4 crop problem

Hi, can anyone help, when I crop an image in cs4, the whole image disappears.
I select crop, then make the box to crop, double click in the boundary and the whole image goes away. The tab on the top says I'm still on the image, but the work area is just grey.

It worked fine up until yesterday, have I changed something somewhere?

Looks like it crops down to one pixel square despite the size of the crop box

Don't you just hate it when things change and you don't know why. I lost the options around my move, rotate, stretch tool (not really sure what it is called and on my work laptop so don't have it), there was just a tick box to bring it back.

Sounds like there is something funny with the dpi or something. I would select a new preset for cropping and then try again using that as your starting point.

Kind of worked, went into presets and found the little arrow and saw an option to reset the tool, and it worked... thanks for your help :-)
 
It's probably got set for a 1 pixel square somehow, try clicking clear on the top tool bar.
